Lundin receives nod for Norwegian Sea exploration drilling

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has given Lundin Norway AS (Lundin) consent to drill exploration well 6307/1-1 S.

Lundin is the operator for production licence 830. PSA has granted Lundin consent to drill exploration well 6307/1-1 S, which aims to investigate the Silfari prospect at 63° 55′ 15.85″ N, 07° 18′ 10.05″ E.

The well is to be drilled by Leiv Eiriksson, a semi-submersible drilling facility of the SS Trosvik Bingo 9000 type, owned and operated by Ocean Rig.

Leiv Eiriksson was issued with an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) by the PSA in July 2008.
