Cubility AS, provider of solids control solutions that improve efficiencies, solids control and HSE around drilling operations, has announced an exclusive partnership with Argentinian solids control specialists Polyar SA to market, sell and support its MudCube® solution across Argentina.
In kicking off the partnership, Cubility is to sell Polyar three MudCubes®, the industry’s first compact solids control system that eliminates the traditional process of shaking fluid and solids.
It is anticipated that the MudCube will play a key role in the Vaca Muerta development, one of the world’s largest deposits of shale oil and gas, where the combination of expensive drilling fluids alongside high transport and waste disposal costs makes it the environment ideal for the MudCube.
Kai Preben Sæveland, Chief Executive Officer at Cubility, says, “We have always considered Argentina and its abundance of under-developed shale fields to be the perfect fit for Cubility. With the rise in pad drilling, multiple wells, transport and waste disposal challenges and the need to contain costs, the MudCube is ideally suited with its ability to be seamlessly added to existing operations and deliver value in drilling fluids and waste disposal within days.”
He continues, “We believe the partnership with Polyar to be a ‘win-win’ for both companies, providing Polyar with a groundbreaking solids control solution and Cubility partnership with an Argentinian industry leader.”
The MudCube eliminates the traditional process of shaking fluids and solids by using a vacuum-based/rotating screen filtration system. This allows more drilling fluid to be recycled back to the mud tanks, generates dryer cuttings and less waste, and leads to improved drilling efficiencies, reduced operational costs, and improved HSE and working conditions. The MudCube can also be easily integrated into existing rig designs, with fast installation and maintenance ensuring that it is up and running and delivering immediate value to shale operators.
Polyar is Argentina’s market leader in the provision of solids control equipment and is dedicated to improving and optimising services around drilling and workover equipment and operator goals of drilling better wells, reducing costs and complying with environmental and safety standards. Solids control solutions focus on the recovery of the mud that accompanies the cuttings at the output of the primary equipment and the processing of the mud.
