Aker BP is the operator for production licence 869. The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has given Aker BP, operator for production licence 869, consent to drill exploration well 24/9-13.

The well is located in the North Sea, close to the Bøyla and Alvheim fields, with a water depth at the site of 117.5 metres.

The operation is scheduled to begin in early September 2018 and to last 23 days.

Drilling is to be carried out using the Scarabeo 8 mobile drilling facility. A semi-submersible of the Moss CS50 MKII type, Scarabeo 8 is operated by Saipem Norge. The rig, built in Russia and Italy and put into service in 2012, has been classified by DNV GL and is registered in the Bahamas.
