Industry body, Subsea UK has issued a final call for entries ahead of its prestigious 2019 business awards.
The awards recognise companies and individuals who are leading the way in Britain’s GBP 9 billion subsea sector.
Entries are being sought for the subsea company of the year (large and small), the most promising young person in the sector, outstanding contribution by an individual to the industry and emerging enterprise.
The awards will also recognise achievements and innovations in technology, safety and exports, with the innovation and technology award, sponsored by Simmons & Co. International, and the global exports award, sponsored by the Department for International Trade.
Nominations can be made online via www.subseaexpo.com by Friday, 26 October.
An independent judging panel of industry leaders will score each entry according to the agreed criteria and the shortlist of finalists will be announced in December 2019.
Accolades will be presented at a gala dinner, organised by Subsea UK on 6th February during Subsea Expo, Europe’s largest subsea conference and exhibition.
Several hundred business leaders are expected to attend the dinner that celebrates the hard work and outstanding achievements generated across the industry over the past twelve months.
Neil Gordon, chief executive of Subsea UK, says, “The UK continues to be the world-leader in subsea and every year these awards give us the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the world-class talent and expertise which exists in the UK subsea industry.”
Last year’s dinner, attended by over 600 guests from across the international energy industry, saw Tekmar Energy Limited named Company of the Year and Richard Marsh of Tritech was named the recipient of the Outstanding Contribution Award.
With the theme “Innovating the Future”, the event aims to stimulate high-level discussions on subsea technology and the rise of digitalisation. Looking at how they are accelerating the ability to deliver sustainable energy and achieve operational efficiency.
Subsea Expo will take place at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre from 5-7 February 2019.
