The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has announced Norwegian Continential Shelf (NCS) preliminary production figures for April 2019, which show an average daily production of 1,729,000 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate – a decrease of 24,000 barrels per day compared to March.
Total gas sales were 10.2 billion Sm3 (GSm3), which is a decrease of 0.6 GSm3 from the previous month.
Average daily liquids production in April was 1,380,000 barrels of oil, 320,000 barrels of NGL and 29,000 barrels of condensate.
Oil production in April is 0.6% lower than the NPD’s forecast, and 1.7% below the forecast so far this year. The main reasons that production in April was below forecast is technical problems on some fields.
The total petroleum production for the first four months in 2019 is about 75.8 million Sm3 oil equivalents (MSm3 o.e.), broken down as follows: about 26.8 MSm3 o.e. of oil, about 6.8 MSm3 o.e. of NGL and condensate and about 42.2 MSm3 o.e. of gas for sale.
The total volume is 3.1 MSm3 o.e. lower than in 2018.
