For almost two decades, SPX® FLOW has delivered high-performance, long-life bolting tools for construction and maintenance activities in the oil and gas industry. Its tools are well proven, successful and valued items on many projects and installations throughout the world. They are designed with features which create high performance and safe operation, but also maintain their performance throughout their long life. They are resilient and are low maintenance, resulting in low total cost of ownership, thus making them excellent value purchases for core bolting activities and maintenance support.

Through its Bolting Systems brand, however, SPX FLOW is not just a supplier of premium quality tools. Its expertise and experienced personnel mean operators get a total package, including solutions to even the toughest challenges, custom training and advice to help ensure safe and efficient operation.

Included within its primary bolting tools range are high cycle torque wrenches – TWHC, developed from the earlier successful TWSD range. This model has been tested to in excess of 30,000 cycles to ensure long life, reliable operation and lasting performance. They are designed using top grade materials to provide excellent corrosion resistance and have a compact nose radius to fit in tight, hard to reach spaces. They are light weight with an optional carry handle/eye-bolt facility and with a multi-position, high-flow swivel manifold – this enables operators to manoeuvre the tool into almost any position required, make them easy to use and highly efficient in the workplace.

For enhanced safety, the drive mechanism within the TWHC is enclosed with a rubber cover reducing the risk of trapped fingers or sharp edges that may cause injury. The TWHC range comes in a wide selection of sizes and continues to be developed to completely replace its TWSD predecessor, meaning standard tools meet most application needs.

Other torque wrenches from SPX FLOW include a selection of low clearance, heavy duty torque wrenches – TWLC. Designed for low weight with high strength, these versatile tools offer reduced height and a tight nose radius, making them ideal for bolting areas which are restricted with square-drive wrenches. TWLC tools are high performance, easy to operate and high-speed, making them the preferred choice for most applications.

Also within the primary tools range from SPX FLOW are the “SRT” range of hydraulic bolt tensioners. These innovative units are designed to reduce operator fatigue, increase efficiency and enhance safety. They use an automatic piston return, which significantly reduces reset times to increase productivity with an in-built safety valve. They also offer long seal-life and with features such as an integrated misalignment compensator and quick connect bridge change, protect both the operators and tool whilst adding performance, flexibility and accuracy.

Although most operations can be achieved using standard tools, SPX FLOW also has expert engineering capability to design and manufacture customised units that meet more unusual requirements. Whatever tool you select from the range, you can be assured of premium quality, long life and reliable operation along with world-class support from top tooling and application experts for the oil and gas industry.

Supporting its range of tools, SPX FLOW offers bolt load and flange management software. Its Bolt Load Calculator “Adviser”, has been developed from the many years of bolting experience SPX FLOW has accrued and is widely used and proven throughout the industry. The “FlangePro” software, again widely used throughout the industry, provides a streamlined, effective and practical flange management tool for asset integrity to ensure ongoing safe and efficient operations.

To complete the “total bolting solution” concept, SPX FLOW also offers comprehensive training to the industry in the form of ECITB, API and bespoke courses. Based in its Aberdeen facility, SPX FLOW offers bolting and small-bore tubing courses in purpose designed facilities, or via mobile systems at the client or field facility.
