MOL Norge receives consent for North Sea exploration drilling

Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has given MOL Norge consent for exploration drilling in block 25/8 in the North Sea. Well 25/8-19 S – Evra/Iving – is located in production licence 820, with MOL Norge as operator.

The location where well 25/8-19 S is to be drilled is in the central North Sea, west of Haugesund. Water depth at the site is 125 metres.

Drilling is scheduled to begin on 25 September 2019 and is expected to last 44 days.

Well 25/8-19 S is to be drilled using the Deepsea Bergen mobile drilling facility.

Deepsea Bergen a semi-submersible mobile drilling facility of the Aker H-3.2 type, was built at Aker Verdal in 1983. It is owned and operated by Odfjell Drilling. The facility is classified by DNV GL and is registered in Norway.

Deepsea Bergen received an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) from the PSA in December 2001.
