The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has granted ConocoPhillips Skandinavia AS a drilling permit for well 25/7-8 S, cf. Section 15 of the Resource Management Regulations.

The drilling programme for well 25/7-8 S, which will be drilled from the Leiv Eiriksson drilling rig, relates to the drilling of a wildcat well in production licence 917. ConocoPhillips Skandinavia AS is the operator with an ownership interest of 40%. The other licensees are Lundin Norway AS (20%), Suncor Energy Norge AS (20%) and Vår Energi AS (20%).

The area in this licence consists of parts of blocks 25/7 and 25/10. The well will be drilled about 15 kilometres west of Ringhorne and 210 kilometres northwest of Stavanger.

Production licence 917 was awarded on 2 March 2018 in APA 2017 on the Norwegian shelf.

This is the first well to be drilled in the licence. The permit is contingent on the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities before commencing the drilling activity.
