ConocoPhillips to drill in North Sea production licence 917

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has granted ConocoPhillips Skandinavia AS a drilling permit for well 25/7-9 S, cf. Section 15 of the Resource Management Regulations.

Well 25/7-9 S will be drilled from the Leiv Eiriksson drilling rig, and the drilling programme for relates to the drilling of wildcat wells in production licence 917. ConocoPhillips Skandinavia AS is the operator with an ownership interest of 40%. The other licensees are Lundin Norway AS (20%), Suncor Energy Norge AS (20%) and Vår Energi AS (20%).

The area in this licence consists of part of blocks 25/7 and 25/10. The well will be drilled about 12 kilometres west of Ringhorne and 210 kilometres northwest of Stavanger.

Production licence 917 was awarded on 2 March 2018 in APA 2017 on the Norwegian shelf.

This is the second well to be drilled in the licence. The permit is contingent on the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities prior to commencing the drilling activity.
