Two days of ongoing networking, hundreds of decision-makers of the industry, dozens of business calls, and presentations based on the latest market cases – all that took place at the virtual BGS online platform in frames of Epoch of Sustainability – International Upstream Congress 2020.
In the time of the pandemic, oil and gas majors from different time zones had visited the 2-day online Congress. They did it at the innovative BGS online platform, created in-house specifically for the BGS Group congresses to give its attendees as many opportunities as they would have had at the offline events. One of them was EPOCH 2020, which took place on the 5-6 of October.
“The key question for us was how not to lose quality for which our clients are coming each year at our events. We appreciate the trust of our clients and we can’t afford to replace high quality event with the simple webinar,” says Regina Chislova, the EPOCH Project Director.
EPOCH comprised 2 days of sessions, B2B-meetings, and networking through video calls and chats. All delegates were supported by personal managers who, for example, scheduled the meetings through the event. Eni, Equinor, ExxonMobil, BP, OMV, Repsol, Lukoil, Galp, Wood, Worley, McDermott, Petrofac participated at the Congress and experienced its networking opportunities.
Upstream sustainable future, cost-cutting innovations and advanced technologies, safety and risk management, diversity and inclusion in oil and gas industry – all these topics were covered by the industry experts and gathered lively discussions. Through the virtual sessions, VP Digital at Petrofac, Steve Johnson, spoke about digital technology driving energy asset optimisation; CSO of Wood, Martyn Link, raised the energy transition issues; and SVP Human Resources from OMV AG, Isabell Hametner, discussed the diversity importance in the oil and gas industry.
Among the speakers were also Program Lead, Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at McDermott, Rissa McGurn; Digitalization Lead at Repsol, Itziar Martinez; HSE Director at Energean Vassilis, Tsetoglou; Lead analyst at Equinor, Einar Landre; and others who held valuable discussions with the session attendees.
