Miika Eerola has been appointed as the CEO of St1 Refinery Ab in Gothenburg, Sweden. He will begin his work as CEO from 1 February 2021 onwards. Miika Eerola has worked in the international oil sector since early 2000s and will move to the role of CEO of St1 Refinery Ab after being in SVP positions in MOL Group Downstream Division in Hungary since 2013.
To ensure continuity and smooth transition, Technical Manager Mikael Öberg is nominated as the acting Managing Director of St1 Refinery Ab for the period from 1 November 2020 to 31 January 2021. While, the current CEO, Bo-Erik Svensson, will focus on transition and serve as an advisor to the Refinery Chairman of the Board ahead of his retirement during spring 2021.
“I would like to thank Bo-Erik for his long career with us. He has initiated the transition of the refinery to enter biorefining era. This is a good point for Miika to take over and further develop the refinery to more sustainable one. I am very happy to welcome Miika onboard,” says Henrikki Talvitie, CEO of St1 Nordic Oy.
