An Aberdeen-based business which specialises in torque machines has been presented with the highest official UK award for British business.
Five-year-old EnerQuip has received a coveted Queens Award for Enterprise for outstanding achievement in the field of International Trade. The accolade recognises the organisation’s success in overseas markets, which accounted for about 95% of EnerQuip’s GBP 12+ million turnover in 2019.
The company specialises in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of torque machines and associated products, including bucking units and fully rotational makeup and breakout torque machines which can be adapted to suit any application.
International hubs in Houston and Abu Dhabi work in parallel with the company’s global headquarters in Aberdeen and additional premises in Caithness to deliver products and services to a growing client base in the likes of Africa, North and South America, Canada, Europe, Far East, Australia, Middle East and Russia, as well as the UK.
EnerQuip is also a finalist in the “Going Global” category of Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce’s Northern Star Business Awards, the winners of which will be announced early next year.
The Queens Award presentation was made by The Lord Provost of Aberdeen Barney Crockett in his role as Lord-Lieutenant. He said, “I am delighted to present the Queen’s Award for International Trade to EnerQuip Ltd. Since its launch 5 years ago here in Aberdeen EnerQuip has gone from strength-to-strength and developed a hugely successful global reach thanks to the services it offers along with its highly skilled and committed workforce. I congratulate everyone at EnerQuip and wish them continued success in the future.”
Company Chairman Andrew Polson added, “Whilst the COVID-19 pandemic continues to pose significant challenges for our business, we are pleased to end 2020 ahead of expectations and enter 2021 with renewed confidence and optimism. The receipt of this award is a fitting end to our fifth anniversary year and pays tribute to the strenuous efforts of everyone on the team in driving the business forward.”
“Whilst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically changed the shape of our business landscape, EnerQuip was established during a downturn and we are confident that those early experiences will stand us in good stead as we face the vagaries of the weeks and months ahead,” continued Polson.
