The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) has welcomed Rhys Jones as Technical Adviser, Marine Renewable Energy.

Jones brings a wealth of offshore wind energy experience to IMCA, having worked for RenewableUK for 12 years as Head of Technical Affairs. This involved a strong focus on health, safety, and regulatory compliance in the offshore wind sector. Rhys has managed numerous industry committees in developing various best-practice guidance documents in the offshore wind industry in much the same way as IMCA’s operating model.

Mark Ford, IMCA’s Marine & Quality Manager states, “Following the retirement this year of Captain Andy Goldsmith, we welcome Rhys to the team and look forward to him leading IMCA’s Marine Renewable Energy Committee and addressing the many opportunities ahead in this rapidly developing industry.”

“Prior to RenewableUK Rhys worked for Petrofac Training Services as Staff Training Manager Survival & Marine. These skills fit well with IMCA’s competence and training agenda, which forms a key part of our mission to improve performance in the marine contracting industry,” Ford adds.
